Creating Curiosity: Expanding Know-How in Warrnambool

Creating Curiosity: Expanding Know-How in Warrnambool
For Leaders, Unit Helpers, and Junior Leaders seeking to explore and share 'creating curiosity' through STEM (science, technology, engineering, & mathematics) related activities specially designed for Guides.

Participants will be led through a variety of STEM-related activities to take back to their Units. This workshop will be run by Guide Leaders who have experience and/or background in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Activities offered will be different to what is currently being offered in Victorian schools.

Associate and Trefoil members are welcome to attend, but they must have a Working With Children Check and Police Check, and have completed Child Safe Training. Youth members must be 14-17, and actively working as a Junior Leader.

Course participants will gain:
- an understanding of what STEM is;
- activities to carry out with Guides in a Unit setting, and the background discussions/knowledge for each activity; and
- how to informally incorporate curiosity about the world around us in everyday Guide activities.

Overnight accommodation is available at the Warrnambool Guide Hall. Please direct all enquires to the District Manager, Vanessa Rea at vrea@guidesvic.org.au.

BYO lunch. Morning tea will be provided.
