Possum Flyer Instructor Training

Possum Flyer Instructor Training
The 'Possum Flyer' is a giant swing at Britannia Park Guide Campsite which brings joy and excitement to Girl Guides and Leaders. We rely on the generous support of our Volunteers to help facilitate and instruct this activity.

Training for the Possum Flyer and Crate Stacking activities will be conducted by a qualified outside provider.

Training is open to any adult member of Girl Guides Victoria. No previous experience is required, however participants must be comfortable climbing ladders.

Training will cover all aspects of running the Possum Flyer and Crate Stacking activities including:
- Set up and pack down
- Fitting harnesses and helmets
- Risk Management
- Emergency procedures
- Running the activity for small groups

Please BYO lunch, and wear closed toed shoes with long hair tied back. You will have access to the kitchen and other facilities inside Brownie Cottage.

Once training is completed, qualified Possum Flyer Instructors will be required to instruct 2-3 sessions a year for Girl Guide groups attending Britannia Park. Where possible, instructing will be conducted in pairs.

Please note that this training is site-specific and qualified Instructors will only be able to instruct Possum Flyer and Crate Staking at Britannia Park Guide Campsite.
