2017 Shindig - Rescheduled to Feb 2018
Shindig is Girl Guides Victoria’s linking camp for 13-17 year old youth and the Olave Program - women aged 18-29 years. Together young women have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities while developing friendships and networks.

SHINDIG HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED! Due to bush-fires at the end of November, Shindig has been rescheduled to Friday 16 - Sunday 18 February 2018. Registrations have been reopened until Monday 22 January 2018.

Registrations are open for participants aged 13-29.
If you wish to express interest to attend as a Leader, you must be 30+ and fill out this online form. Number of Leaders required will depend on Youth registrations. Please note that Leaders under the age of 30 must attend the camp as participants and pay the full event fee.

Shindig 2017 has a base cost of $110 for all participants. This cost includes food, activities, and outdoor camping accommodation. Additional costs will incur for the following:
- indoor accommodation
- some activities
- transport to/form Belgrave station

Outdoor accommodation is in tents. Participants are required to take their own tent.
Indoor accommodation is in rooms with 4 to 8 participants. Indoor accommodation at this Scout campsite costs an extra $25. If you would like to camp indoors, please click 'ADD' next to the 'Indoor Accommodation' option below.

Upon registering, please select 2 activities that you would like to complete at Shindig 2017 on Saturday by clicking ‘ADD’ next to your activity of choice below. Participants will be contacted if another activity choice needs to be made. If your preferred activity is not available, please write this activity in the additional questions as your 'next selection'. Activities may be re-opened. You will be contacted and asked for payment as necessary prior to camp.

Shindig will run a shuttle service from Belgrave Train Station to Gilwell Park for participants on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon.
Friday evening the shuttle will meet the train arriving at Belgrave Station at 7.31pm. This train departs Southern Cross Station at 6.27pm. Participants will need to make their own way to Belgrave Station. There will be no meeting point or supervision from Southern Cross Station.
Sunday afternoon the Shuttle will drop participants at Belgrave Station in time to catch the 3.02pm train to Flinders St. Participants will not be supervised after being dropped at Belgrave Station and will need to make their own way home.
Please check train arrival and departure times before travelling.
Shuttle service will cost $10 per participant for each direction. If you would like to select one or both of options, please click ‘ADD’ below.

  • If the event is cancelled by Girl Guides Victoria, a full refund will be given.
  • If you withdraw from the event at least one month prior to the closing date for applications, a 90% refund will be given.
  • If you withdraw from the event less than one month before the closing date for applications, a 50% refund will be given.
  • If you withdraw from the event after the closing date for applications, no refund will be given.
